The most complete comparison of AI game makers (83 tools, updated October 24, 2026)

This page compares 83 AI tools for making games: text-to-game makers, game engines and plugins, coding agents, app builders, chatbots, and tools for art, 3D, music and sound. For each one we list what you give it, what you get, where it runs, multiplayer, the free tier, the starting price and its status.

Every fact comes from the tool's own site, checked on October 24, 2026. If a site did not say something, we wrote “Not listed”. Chatforce is our product, and we say so where it appears.

How to make a game with AI

To make a game with AI, describe the game you want to a text-to-game maker, play the first version, ask for changes in plain language, and share it with a link. That is the fastest path, and it needs no coding.

  1. Pick the kind of tool. A text-to-game maker builds a playable game from a description. An engine with an AI plugin helps you build inside an editor. A coding agent writes code in a project you own.
  2. Describe the game. Say the genre, the goal, the controls, 2D or 3D, and whether friends play together. Reference images help set the art style.
  3. Play and refine. Play the first version, then ask for changes one at a time: a new level, a different character, harder enemies.
  4. Add art and sound. Text-to-game makers like Chatforce make the art, music and sound effects with the game. With an engine, you can bring in assets from the art, 3D and audio tools below.
  5. Share it. Most text-to-game makers give you a link. Engines export builds for stores and platforms.

Text-to-game makers

These tools turn a description into a playable game. Most host the game and give you a link to share. For background, here is an explainer on how an AI game builder works.

Chatforce

Chatforce is an AI platform that makes 2D and 3D games from what you describe in chat. It's slop-proof by design because each agent specializes in one part of game development: the coder, the artist, the sound engineer, and the studio director who keeps game design on track. Games can be single-player or multiplayer. Compared with Nanogram, which makes short hyper-casual games that take under a minute to play, Chatforce makes high-quality, in-depth games.

Share a game with a link, and anyone with the link plays without an account. You can also bring reference images, pick art styles and fonts, and paint over concept art. The platform has built-in monetization, so games can sell in-game items.

Chips are how Chatforce measures AI work. One edit uses about 600 chips. The monthly plan is $20 per month for 5,000 chips, and unused chips roll over while you stay subscribed. Chip packs are one-time top-ups, from 500 chips for $5. You can also join the Creator Program for free; the founders review each application, and accepted creators get Creator Program chips. Full details are on our AI game maker pricing page.

Rosebud AI

Rosebud AI is an AI game maker: you describe an idea or pick a template, and it builds a playable game you can deploy without coding. You get 2D or 3D web games plus AI assets such as sprite animations, sounds, skyboxes and 3D models, with downloadable code and a Windows build for Steam on Pro and higher. The free plan gives 8,000 credits with no credit card, and paid plans start at $15/month (Indie Dev). It suits hobbyists who want hosted games with an export path. Chatforce vs Rosebud. Rosebud AI alternatives.

Astrocade

Astrocade is a social gaming platform where anyone can build, share and play AI-made games with no coding or downloads. You type a prompt in the Astrocade app, or connect agents like Claude Code, Codex or Cursor through its hosted MCP, announced October 12, 2026. Games go to the Astrocade feed after review, with plays, comments, followers and analytics. The site says it is free to play and create and lists no paid plan, so it fits casual, phone-friendly games with a built-in audience. Chatforce vs Astrocade. Astrocade alternatives.

Google Playground

Google Playground is an experimental Google platform for creating, playing and sharing custom games through prompts, with no coding. You chat to build a game, then keep it private, share a link or publish it to the Explore gallery after safety screening. Multiplayer works in select genres, and a Unity Spark integration for high-fidelity 3D is announced as coming. It is open to U.S. users 18+, and Google says tiered creation access is rolling out based on your Google AI subscription, with no prices listed.

Spawn

Spawn is a place to make multiplayer games by chatting with Savi, its AI game builder, then inviting friends to play. You describe the game in text and reference images and get 3D, 2D or mixed games with editable files and saved change history, published on Spawn with one click. Creating and playing are free with Savi included, and the site says creators keep half of what players spend on in-game currency. It is in beta and fits groups who want to build multiplayer games together.

Nanogram

Nanogram is a mobile app for making short hyper-casual games that take under a minute to play, from one text prompt. Share pages play on the web with no app or login, while creating games and the feed are in the iOS and Google Play apps only. The app is free to download and play; creation limits and prices are not listed. It is a good fit for quick hyper-casual games made on a phone. Chatforce vs Nanogram.

Upit

Upit is an AI game creator for making, playing and sharing games in a social feed, where others can remix them. Its site does not list inputs, platforms or prices, and its pricing and about links led back to the feed. It fits people who enjoy casual games with a remix community. Chatforce vs Upit.

Makko AI

Makko AI is a 2D game maker for creating characters, backgrounds, animations and playable games by describing what you want. Collections keep your art style consistent, you can export characters and sprite animations, and games publish with a shareable link. The free plan gives a 150 art budget per month plus 70 weekly AI requests for coding, with no credit card. Subscription prices did not load on the day we checked; one-time top-ups start at $5 for 200 credits. Chatforce vs Makko AI. Makko AI alternatives.

Bitmagic

Bitmagic is an AI-first platform that turns a sentence into a playable game, with a Pro GDK that coding agents like Claude Code, Codex or Cursor can drive. You get 3D games as TypeScript source with a bundled engine for physics, vehicles and netcode, plus generated characters, props, skyboxes, sound and whole levels. Games publish to a bitmagic.ai URL, you own the code, and a native iOS build is available through TestFlight. Bitmagic Pro is 19.90 USD/month, and it suits developers who use coding agents to build 3D web games.

SEELE (SeeleAgent)

SEELE (SeeleAgent) is a multimodal AI agent that turns one prompt into games, images, video, 3D assets and code. It makes 2D and 3D games as Three.js web games or as Unity 6, Unreal 5 and Godot projects, and the site mentions distribution to Steam, the App Store and Google Play. A free tier gives credits to build, play and share; Unity export and advanced models need a Pro plan, whose price was not shown. It fits people who want an AI start they can export to Unity, Unreal or Godot.

Luddi

Luddi lets you describe a game idea and has AI build it in seconds, then play, share and remix it. You start from a prompt or template in Express mode for free, or use Agentic mode on Pro and Ultra, and games go to a public feed with likes, comments and remixes. The free plan includes 300 Daily Spark and 1,000 Weekly Spark, and Pro is $8.33/month billed annually ($99.99/year). It suits casual creators remixing quick mini-games.

Instaplay

Instaplay is a free AI game maker that turns text prompts into playable browser games with no coding, download or engine. The create box offers Solo, Multiplayer and Pixel options, and published games get a shareable link that players open without an account. It is fully free: 2 new games a day (up to 4 by completing edits), with unlimited edits and publishing. It is a good pick for quick, free experiments.

CodeWisp

CodeWisp is an AI game builder that turns plain-English descriptions into playable games in real time. You get 2D and 3D browser games with AI-written code, art and sound, plus an optional code editor and block editor. The free plan gives 800 credits; Creator is $19/month, or $16/month billed yearly ($192/year), and adds collaboration, monetization, code editing and exporting. It suits beginners who want to see and edit the code. Chatforce vs CodeWisp.

Cinevva

Cinevva says you describe your game in a sentence and play it minutes later, with the 3D, music, sound and animation generated for you. It also rigs and animates uploaded GLB, FBX or OBJ models into game-ready GLB files for Unity, Godot, Blender or Three.js. How we tested

We visited every tool's own site on October 24, 2026. We read its product pages and pricing, and we recorded only what the site states.

Where a site did not state something, such as a price or multiplayer, we wrote “Not listed” instead of guessing. Prices appear exactly as each site showed them, with the billing period. A few sites showed Canadian dollars for our region, and the table says so.

We did not score or rank tools. The “Best for” picks match a need to the tool whose own site describes that need.

Chatforce is our product. We describe it from our own pricing page, the same way we describe every other tool from its site.

We left out tools that have moved away from games or have no product page: Decart Oasis, Moonlake, Struckd and Dynamics Lab Mirage. We will keep updating this page as tools change.

Update log

  • October 24, 2026: rebuilt the page with 83 tools, each checked on its own site, plus a sortable table, best-for picks, a how-to section and a section for every tool.
  • May 28, 2026: first published.

If you want to work inside an engine, GDevelop is a free, open-source no-code engine with an AI agent, and Unity AI, Bezi and Ziva add agents to Unity, Unreal and Godot. The table on this page lists all 83 tools so you can compare them yourself.

Is there a free AI game maker?

Yes. Several tools state a free way to make games: IdeaToGame is 100% free with no signup, Instaplay is fully free with 2 new games a day, Gessa is free including its built-in AI, Max2D is free on Android, and the GDevelop free plan includes 40 AI credits a month. On Chatforce, you can join the Creator Program for free, and the founders review each application. Our free AI game maker guide has more.

Can AI make a 3D game?

Yes. Chatforce makes 2D or 3D games from chat, and you pick 2D or 3D when you create the game. Other tools here that list 3D games include Rosebud AI, Bitmagic, SEELE, CodeWisp, Gessa, Star, Oriverse and Cinevva, plus engines like Summer Engine, GDevelop and Unreal Engine. See our 3D game maker page for how 3D works on Chatforce.

Can AI make a multiplayer game?

Yes. Chatforce games can be single-player or multiplayer for up to 8 players, and friends join from a shared link. Other tools whose sites list multiplayer include Spawn, Star, Gessa, Oriverse, Tesana, Bitmagic, Instaplay, Gamme and PlayDrop, plus engines like GDevelop and Summer Engine. The multiplayer game maker page explains how it works on Chatforce.

Can I make a game with ChatGPT?

ChatGPT can write game code in chat, Claude can build small games as Artifacts, and Gemini Canvas turns a prompt into a game you can share by link. ChatGPT and Claude do not list game-specific output on their pricing pages. If you want a finished game with art, music and a share link from one chat, a text-to-game maker like Chatforce does that.

How do I make a game with AI?

Pick the kind of tool first: a text-to-game maker if you want to describe a game and play it, an engine with an AI plugin if you want to build in an editor, or a coding agent if you want to write code. On Chatforce, you describe your game in chat, the agents build the code, art and sound, you ask for changes, and then you share a link. Our guide on how to make a game with AI walks through each step.

Which AI tools make game assets?

For 2D art and sprites: Ludo.ai, Scenario, Layer, Leonardo.Ai and PixelLab for pixel art. For 3D models: Meshy, Tripo, Hyper3D Rodin, Sloyd and Kaedim. For music: Suno and Udio. For sound effects and voices: ElevenLabs. Sorceress covers sprites, 3D and audio in one suite. Chatforce makes the art, music and sound effects inside your game, so you do not have to source them separately.

What is the difference between an AI game maker and a game engine?

An AI game maker builds a playable game from what you describe and usually hosts it for you. A game engine like Unity, Unreal, Godot or GameMaker is software you build the game in yourself, and many engines now add AI helpers such as Unity AI, Roblox Studio Assistant, Bezi or Ziva. Engines give you full control and many export targets; AI game makers let you start from a description instead of an editor. Our game engine alternatives page compares the two paths.

Who made this comparison?

The Chatforce team made this page, and Chatforce is our product. We checked every tool on its own site on October 24, 2026, and we list only what each site states. Where a site did not say something, the page says Not listed.
